DATE: MAY 4
TIME: 5-11pm
TICKETS: £15+bf
AGE: 18+
For the first time, Northeast Brazilian artists Bruno Berle, Batata Boy, and Nyron Higor join forces for a unique and intimate debut performance in Brighton. Blending their distinct styles, the trio will showcase songs from their individual repertoires, creating an unforgettable night of Brazilian sounds, soulful melodies, and innovative rhythms.
Bruno Berle, the young songwriter and poet originally hailing from Maceió, crafts songs that are simple, direct, and full of tender nuance. Rooted in the traditions of Northeastern Brazilian music and known for his delicate, poetic songwriting and dreamy lo-fi approach to golden-era MPB.
With his first album No Reino Dos Afetos (Released in 2022), Berle firmly established himself as a unique and important voice in the burgeoning scene of new Brazilian artists making a global impact. Now back with his second album, No Reino Dos Afetos 2, he stretches that further.
Berle’s music lives between two worlds – a traditional Brazilian folk talent steeped in history, and a contemporary, dreamy electronic pop; the result is songwriting that’s genre-bending, intentional, iconoclastic and consuming, spacious and sinewy and singular, a striking reflection of its composer while leaving space for the listener to settle in.
Batata Boy is a multi-instrumentalist and producer whose experimental beats and vibrant soundscapes merge electronic music with the rich textures of Brazilian rhythms. His genre-blurring productions bring an infectious energy to his live performances.
Nyron Higor At the forefront of a rising wave of Brazilian artists captivating international audiences, Nyron Higor brings a quiet yet potent sense of wonder to his new self-titled album. Within the peaceful surroundings of his home, Higor weaves his roots together with global influences and contemporary production techniques, for a uniquely dreamlike vision of hope.
